Our story
2013
In 2013, Leo DINH founded Red Cat Motion (the predecessor of Sun Wolf Animation Studio). Initially, due to limited production resources and such a young market, Red Cat Motion mainly produced animations for brands to serve their advertising campaigns. Thanks to the pursuit of innovation and quality priority, Red Cat Motion was able to expand from the local market to other advanced countries such as the US and Europe which are known for stricter standards. Each animation project is always a challenge that requires the team to constantly create and learn so Red Cat Motion can create groundbreaking animation products.
2017
Red Cat Motion produced its first 20-minute short film "Dragon and Fairy Legend: The Untold Story" with Biti's Kids, honoring Vietnamese folklore.
2018
After many years of development, Red Cat Motion has never forgotten the dream of producing Vietnamese animations, inspiring local and international audiences about Vietnamese unique and diverse culture. That dream has never faded and is the foundation for the birth of Sun Wolf Animation Studio, with the goal of developing our own Vietnamese animation universe.
We started with the Karma Journey project. It was born with a desire to prove that Vietnamese people can create really high-quality, eye-catching, and investment-worthy animations.
2021
The proof-of-concept animation LINH was completed. This was the first short film of the Karma Journey project to demonstrate Linh World and its creatures.
LINH: Magic Powder was officially selected (Official Selection) to compete at the 48th Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF) and the 29th Stuttgart International Animated Festival (ITFS) in the International Competition category.
2022
Sun Wolf Animation Studio implements Tản Viên Phong Châu project inspired by the popular Vietnamese Legend of the Mountain God and the Ocean God.
MEET OUR TEAM
LEO DINH: FOUNDER, DIRECTOR
Leo Dinh, born in 1990, is the founder and CEO of Red Cat Motion and Sun Wolf Animation Studio. Leo Dinh has had a great love for animation since childhood. After graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Multimedia Design from Swinburne University, Australia, Leo Dinh returned to Vietnam and founded Red Cat Motion, focusing on providing visual solutions with Animation/Motion Graphics for brands.
The passion for animation constantly motivates Leo Dinh and the team to produce their own animation projects. That's why Sun Wolf Animation Studio was born, focusing on the Vietnamese animation universe.
Leo Dinh has more than 12 years of experience in creating and producing animation projects and animation series for local and international clients. In addition, he is also the Creative & Art Director for companies such as IDP (Kun milk brand) & Flyer.vn.

MAI NGUYỄN: ANIMATION DIRECTOR
Mai Nguyễn studied and graduated from LASALLE College of the Arts - Puttnam School of Film and Animation. After graduating, she stayed in Singapore to work before returning to Vietnam to join the studio and lead the production team. She is flexibly switching her roles between Producer and Animation Director.
trương duy ninh: DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY
Starting from a major in computer science, in 2016, Ninh turned to choose the path of developing the art of visual storytelling. In 2017, he directly participated in the production of the animation "Dragon and Fairy Legend: The Untold Story". Through collaborative roles with Red Cat Motion and Vietcetera's media platform, he has experience in a variety of creative positions from navigating to directing motion picture production. After finishing his role as the director of photography at Fall Meeting 2019, he pursued his own direction through freelance filmmaking.
Nguyễn TIẾN SƠN: co-founder, PRODUCER
Nguyễn Tiến Sơn has been operating Sun Wolf Animation Studio since 2020. Before that, he was the co-founder and executive officer of Red Cat Motion Hanoi team. Bringing the spirit of a young, enthusiastic person, Sơn is not afraid to learn as well as try different fields in the creative entertainment industry.
NGUYỄN THỊ XUÂN TRANG: PRODUCER
Nguyễn Thị Xuân Trang has many years of experience in producing television series and advertising TVCs. Since 2014, after studying in Kyoto, she has collaborated and produced short films, documentaries, and feature films. In 2019, she expanded her filmmaking career by attending a filmmaking training course at the New York Film Academy in Australia. Some notable projects that she participated in included the film “Vị”, the short film “16:30” and the documentary “The Tree House” which all received valuable awards.
